Data Security Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Summary

At BBS Gallery, protecting high-value studio assets and client photography memories is foundational. This Data Security document details our encryption, access controls, infrastructure resiliency, and incident response measures.

1. Security Architecture & Infrastructure

[PLACEHOLDER: Cloud Isolation & Defense in Depth] BBS Gallery services are hosted across redundant, enterprise-grade cloud regions (AWS ap-south-1 Mumbai and Cloudflare Global Edge). All infrastructure operates within isolated Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) with strict network security groups and ingress access controls.

Production databases are separated from application containers, preventing direct public internet exposure of stored client metadata.

2. Encryption Standards

We implement industry-standard cryptographic protocols across all tiers of the service:

2.1 Encryption in Transit

[PLACEHOLDER: TLS 1.3 Transport Security] All data exchanged between photographers, clients, and BBS servers is protected using TLS 1.3 (Transport Layer Security) with modern cipher suites. Insecure HTTP connections are automatically redirected to HTTPS with HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) headers enforced.

2.2 Encryption at Rest

[PLACEHOLDER: AES-256 Storage Encryption] All uploaded photo proofs, image caches, and relational database backups are encrypted at rest using AES-256 bit encryption. Master encryption keys are managed through certified hardware security modules (HSMs) with automatic key rotation.

3. Client Proofing Access Controls

[PLACEHOLDER: Nonce & PIN Protection] Client galleries do not require vulnerable passwords. Instead, access is guarded through:

• High-entropy unique slug URLs: Cryptographically generated links that prevent enumeration scans.

• Studio-configured 4 to 6-digit PIN protection: Scrambled with bcrypt hashing, enforcing rate-limiting (maximum 5 attempts before lockout with cooldown periods).

• Safe Preview Watermarking: Optional lightweight studio watermarks applied server-side before delivery to protect against unauthorized print screen capture.

4. Studio Authentication & Session Security

[PLACEHOLDER: Studio Authentication Standards] Studio account passwords are salted and hashed using Argon2id / bcrypt. We never store plaintext passwords.

Studio sessions use secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict cookies to defend against Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). Sessions automatically expire after periods of inactivity.

5. Resiliency, Backups & Disaster Recovery

[PLACEHOLDER: Continuous Database Snapshots] Relational selection databases are continuously replicated across availability zones with automated point-in-time recovery (PITR) spanning 30 days.

We maintain documented Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols designed for an RTO (Recovery Time Objective) under 2 hours and an RPO (Recovery Point Objective) under 15 minutes in catastrophic regional outage events.

6. Vulnerability Management & Auditing

[PLACEHOLDER: Automated Dependency & SAST Scanning] All code commits undergo automated Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and software dependency vulnerability analysis (Dependabot) to patch security flaws before deployment.

We conduct regular external penetration tests and maintain a responsible vulnerability disclosure policy.

7. Security Incident Response

[PLACEHOLDER: 72-Hour Breach Notification] We maintain an active Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). In the unlikely event of a verified data breach impacting studio or client personal data, affected studio administrators will be notified without undue delay and within 72 hours of verification in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

8. Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure

If you believe you have discovered a security flaw, vulnerability, or bug in BBS Gallery, please report it directly to our security team:

[PLACEHOLDER: Security Operations Email] Email: security@bbsgallery.com. We acknowledge valid reports within 24 hours and do not pursue legal action against ethical security researchers acting in good faith.
